We got to see our baby!

So the day finally came that we got to see our baby. Yesterday, Andy and I went to our second appointment with Dr. White and we got our ultrasound done. He/She was moving around so much (basically jumping around) it was really neat to see. The heartbeat slowed down a little to 155 beats per minute and he/she was 10.4 centimeters long from head to rump. Dr said it is developing great! The baby is still due on August 6th and I am 13 weeks as of yesterday. Here are two pictures of sweet little baby Turner. I think the baby may be practicing diving in the bottom picture
:)Now for some news that was a little crazy. While getting my ultrasound the tech said "Has anyone ever told you that you have a bicornuate uterus?" Of course I said "No, what is that?" Dr. White explained to me that my uterus is shaped like a heart instead of a normal uterus shape. The reason why it is shaped like that is because it didn't fully develop while I was in my mom's belly! So basically what it means for the baby is that since I pretty much have two sides to my uterus (which the two are still connected) the baby is living in only one side. Now what it means for me is that most the time the baby has to be taken earlier than the due date and I have a much higher chance for having to have a C section because in most cases the baby becomes breached. Although I do not know alot about it...I am trying to not get worried because my doctor didn't seem worried at all!

Our next appointment is February 16th! I will continue to update.

Shocking News!

So as most of you know Andy and I are expecting our first child together..crazy I know! Neither of us were expecting this nor were we prepared but we are both taking steps together to get everything ready for our new baby. Although we were a little shocked at first we have both become used to the idea and are very excited. We had our first doctor's appointment on the 11th with Doctor White who we both liked (I left my old doctor because she was a freak). We got to hear the hearbeat which was the greatest thing and it was 168 beats per minute. As of our appointment the baby is due on August 6th, 2010 but he said it could change when I get my first ultrasound on the 27th...I can't wait to see our little baby growing. :)
